Note | Exquisite solid silky glass specimen of this desirable and famous Australian Zoila subspecies. Marvelous wide with strong flanging, moderately tuberculated margins and superior black/brown fused coloration. The shell exhibits a thick glossy nacre on a flawless dorsum with two beautifully golden brown/ivory pigmented and reticulated windows. The specimen is astounding in hand with an impressive weight to size ratio (26.8 grams). The shell has thick anterior and posterior flanges, perfect margins and extremities. A marvelous shell in overall visual appearance. Scuba diver John Clark collected while feasting on a sponge nestled on a granite boulder undercut off Cape Le Grande, Esperance, Western Australia at 25 meters in 1994.
