| Note | Moderately sized super dark pigmented specimen of this subspecies taken from the Sea of Cortez. Excellent axial spotting, significant gloss, mild hued white/muted lavender aperture, dark spiral and axial patching dorsally. The specimen features a perfect dark pigmented spire, excellent body whorl gloss with a thick clean natural lip. Live collected by beachcomber in sand trails during low tide at Punta Chivato, Baja California, Mexico in 1977. The cone shell shows modest protoconch erosion. Grade: F+++. |
