| Note | Distinctive fat/wide solid stolida (22.8 mm) with balanced blotching while displaying strong rostration. Dark melanistic hued, cylindrical, heavily calloused beauty with intense lateral wall and a notable dorsal blotch that underscore this exceptional shell. The dorsal blotch is impressive and pitch black. The broad shell shows thick extremity tips with superb pigmentation and a thick glossy nacre. The specimen has excellent patterning with a heavy weight/size ratio (12.7 grams). The crossei was taken by free diver at 1-2 meters off Five Mile Reef, New Caledonia in 1/2004. EX: Marty Beals collection. The shell is flawless. Grade: GEM. |
