Conus marmoreus - RARE ORANGE FORM , Linnaeus, 1758
Size
54 mm
Locality
New Caledonia
Note
F++/F+++ (small ventral erosion, perfect natural lip). From my personal collection. This form is endemic to New Caledonia. It is rare, and unfortunately many fakes are in circulation. The difference lies in particular in the persistence of dark shades in the orange areas.
