A stunning very heavy solid candida collected from a brown basket sponge in 96 metres of water off the Cape Le Grande National Park to the south of Esperance.
The shell is graded Fine++/Fine+++ as its dorsum is a little growthy and it has a re-glazed well healed dorsal tooth scrape indicated by a green arrow in the photos. Even so it is a very pretty shell with radial bands of mauve and tan, entwined with a chevron pattern showing through, finished with golden spotted sides and matching siphons.
