NoteWe have just revisited (May 2025) the area where stricklandi live and were extremely disappointed to find that the area has been decimated by the hot water event that has settled on the area for the past five months. Most of the food sponges are dead and even the gorgonian fan corals have been fried and are charred stumps. We have found a very limited number of surviving stricklandi.  For this reason we are raising the price on the limited number of specimens on hand. We hope the species will survive but will not know for some years. We intend to leave them alone hopefully to recover. Thank global warming. A classic stricklandi ROV collected from a sponge in 82 metres of water west of the Muiron Islands off Exmouth Gulf. Attractive shell with a cream dorsum covered in brown speckles, browny apricot base and creamy apricot sides with brown spots. New Zoila discovered by ROV in 2014. Stricklandi were available in greater number in the past but this is no longer the case with few if any being collected in recent years. Graded Fine++/Fine+++ due one tiny nacre pimple that can be felt on the posterior labial shoulder and a dorsal growth irregularity.
