NoteA big shell dive collected from a cave in 20 metres of water at Mandurah in Western Australia. Clean shell in exceptional condition in that the lip is in near perfect condition with minor local roughness only and a small growth interruption near the spire. The lips on jourdani are incredibly fragile due to the thick MOP layer which is prismatic aragonite at 90 degrees to the surface with acts like optic fiber hence the prismatic effect of MOP. Few make it ashore in the condition of this specimen. Weighing in at 474 grams with operculum it's a good sized jourdani.
