NoteCollected from Geographe Bay in Western Australia in 32 metres of water half buried in sand. Very exceptional gem specimen with top valve a dark maroon colour with white contrasting rays. The priessiana form is distinguished from type fumatus that occurs in Eastern Australia by a fine radial grove that runs down the center of the large ribs on the basal valve.
