| Note | A RARE conchological treasure from the past, being a lovely DWARF specimen at 59.0mm of Jeaniana aurata. It has a lovely mature symmetry with a wonderful convex flared base. The dorsum conveys a soft mantle line with dense gold spotting on both sides of the mantle line. The dorsum is very glassy with a very soft crease high on labral margin. The canals have small chips and some suggestion of filing, but its presentation in hand is still very attractive. These Taiwanese specimens are rarely seen today and give a degree of history to any zoila collection. Original label within the specimen's aperture. Provenance: sadly, from the late Kevin Cheney collection. ALL WHITE REFLECTIONS AND DULL AREAS ARE FROM THE CAMERA LIGHTING. |
