Fissurella maxima - Very Nice, Selected , G. B. Sowerby I, 1834
Size
74 mm
Locality
Caldera, northern Chile
Note
One very nice live-taken and large specimen of Fissurella maxima, the largest species of Fissurellidae. This species lives on rocks, usually near and under forests of giant Lessonia algae. This specimen was carefully cleaned and treated with mineral oil to highlight the very nice pattern on the dorsum, and it is in very good condition, with no chips or nicks in the border. I have received several of these cleaned specimens, which I am here offering for cheap.
