| Note | GENUINE DWARF "GIBBA" HUMPEDBACK.....Oozing the features prized most in a ‘gibba’, only in miniature, counting a wide round swollen shape – corpulent callus – pattern & colour – spotting above both margins – full maturity – weight, like a mini-brick – super-thick base. Gerontic is a term thrown around loosely yet spot-on in spite of a dwarf. Almost impossible to find one in gem condition but certainly better than most with perfect terminals. Amongst the most impressive of all cowries. Grade: F+++/Gem. Provenance: from my own collection. Collected by diver; 4m; off Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. |
