|
| Item | # 0003916512 | | Family | Fissurellidae | | Name | Fissurella cumingi - Nice, Selected , Reeve, 1849 |
| Size | 68 mm |
| Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
| Note | One nice specimen of Fissurella cumingi, a nice species of Fissurellidae similar to F. maxima but with a radial pattern often crossed by concentric patterns, giving a tartan pattern. The shell is also thinner, more concave, and more sharper in the border. This specimen is preserved in its natural condition, lightly cleaned, and it is in very good condition for the species, with some tiny nicks in the border (which is very nice, with alternating bands of color), and a natural dorsum cleaned (can be oiled) with some scars, as can be seen in the images. You can clean it to perfection with some patience and time. I have received several of these cleaned specimens, which I am here offering for cheap. |
