| Note | Endangered shallow water subspecies presenting a shorter, inflated body with pronounced extremities and spire. An exceptional no longer encountered impressively small specimen with a dark brown base with a distinctively unique dorsum blotching pattern. The specimen shows moderate rostration and a unique and rarely encountered display of dorsal maculae. The dwarf cowrie shows excellent nacre gloss with perfect extremities and base. EX: Don Pisor. Taken at 5-10 meters while hanging out on a sponge by a Scuba diver among eel grass off Dunsborough, Western Australia in 1993. Grade: GEM. |
