| Note | Classic albinistic specimen with wonderful body whorl form and a wide varice expansion. The foliatum has beautiful symmetry, heavy weight/size ratio (56 grams) and excellent axial ribs and varix flutes. The foliatums general appearance is impressive . The shell features excellent structural characteristics considering the turbulent ocean conditions in Pacific Islands area. Captured at the base/periphery of a kelp forest by Scuba diver at 14-15 meters off Santa Rosa Island, California in 2022. The aperture lip, protoconch, and anterior canal are intact. There is random attrition of fluted edges on the varices and erosive areas on the spire with a mini pinhole on the ventral body whorl. Grade: F++/F+++. |
