| Note | Rare species with thick, ovate, and rugged/nodulose sculpture from the intersection of spiral ribs to the axial patterns, complemented by a porcelain white aperture.The shell boasts a tall spire, rugged, strong nodulose warty pattern projecting off the axial varices. The inner lip shows remarkable and distinctive transverse plicae. A remarkably rare shell in any condition. Collected by Scuba diver Paul Kanner off North shore Oahu, Hawaii at 24 meters at the base of a 2 meter ledge in 06/1968. The specimen shows excellent form, with intact spire, aperture, body whorl, and anterior siphon. Larger specimen, showing typical attrition of the protoconch. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. |
