| Note | Top specimen of niger/rostrate eglantina. Very heavy, 98% jet black with just a hint of mantle line, base distorted showing extreme rostration, very glossy and smooth. Eglantina N/R are avaiable in some numbers but exceptional specimens for almost complete melanism, morphology, quality and with no nacre defects are rare. Dived in 10 mt at night off Mont-Dore, west of Noumea, 1995. Shadows and white marks are reflections from the camera. |
