| Note | Classic example of Umbilia, with distinctive apricot/orange/brown dorsal botch, thick glossy nacre and perfect extremities that are highlighted by darker brown/peach hues. The shell is heavy for its size and shows remarkable form with excellent nacre gloss (90.0 grams). The specimen is wonderfully inflated and strongly rostrated with superb beige/nude skin tones on the base and lateral walls. Trawled at 130-150 meters off the western Great Australian Bight, Eucla, Western Australia. There is a nacre crease on the columellar dorsum and a small glazed mico-silt inclusion on the anterior columellar margin. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. |
