Fissurella maxima - Very Nice, Selected , G. B. Sowerby I, 1834
Size
85.6 mm
Locality
Caldera, northern Chile
Note
One very nice live-taken specimen of Fissurella maxima, the largest species of Fissurellidae. This species lives on rocks, usually near and under forests of giant Lessonia algae. This specimen was carefully cleaned and treated with mineral oil to highlight the very nice pattern on the dorsum, which is in good condition with some minor flaws, and a border with no chips, as can be seen in the images. A very low initial price for a very nice specimen.
