| Item | # 0003945379 |
| Family | Patellidae |
| Name | Scurria viridula - Very Nice, Very Large! , (Lamarck, 1819) |
| Size | 58.6 mm |
| Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
| Note | A nice and large live-taken specimen of Scurria viridula. This species is endemic of PerĂº and Chile. This is a very nice and large specimen which have a very nice very white interior with some pale green-bluish hue in the center, and with no boring marks or damages, and a very good dorsum of the shell, with some old scars and some covering of red algae, and a border with a few nicks, as it can be seen in the images. Usually these species have either dorsums covered with calcareous algae or very eroded dorsums. A nice specimen of one of the largest Scurria species from Chile (largest specimens which I have obtained are at around 70 mm). |
