Huge specimen from an old Western Australian collection, taken in cray pots back in 1978! Typical specimens are only around 100mm in this species, however this beast measures 130mm. One of the rarest members of genus Volutoconus, this specimen is unfortunately only in representative condition however it is still a specimen of a very difficult to acquire species. The anterior canal is heavily chipped, but the lip is still in decent condition. The shell also has numerous worm holes on the dorsum. Overall presents decently. |
