| Note | A HIGHLY UNUSUAL HALIOTID FROM QUEENSLAND. Out of the Rice collection is this very particular Haliotid with the label "Queensland". The shell could not be identified, despite the fact we browsed several thousand images of Haliotis: much has been published on this small family. Haliotis thailandis has similar knobs set in lines, but the shape is very different, the size much smaller... also H. unilateralis has such a sculpture, but the shape is very different, once more. A small treasure for Haliotis lovers. Fine quality only as can be seen, but beautiful coloration and an intriguing shape. A truly rarity.
