| Note | Lovely large marginata with moderate rostration, a relatively inflated body and excellent mellow spotting/maculae/pattern painted on a primary ivory pigmented dorsum. This pattern and coloring is unique and rare by most standards.The specimen shows an excellent nacre gloss, flawless extremities with notable flaring and tuberculation of the margins. The specimen has excellent rostration, a China-white base and superb marginal spotting. The shell was taken by senior diver Andrew Edinger at 10 meters while sitting on a sponge inside the top lip of a cave entrance off South Murray Reefs, Mandurah, Western Australia in 3/2012. The specimen displays one small concave divot (concavity) on the mid- labral lateral wall. Grade: GEM minus. |
