| Note | Beautiful black/dark chocolate brown pigmented classic specimen with pristine shape, symmetry and coloration. Moderately heavy for its small size (16.9 grams), the specimen is outstanding in all respects with a glistening crisp, clean and thick nacre. The dorsum displays a beautiful narrow mid-dorsal patch with a light brown/amber diffuse "Y" shaped window perched on the dorsal hump. The shell has an infused black dorsum blending into the deep black/walnut brown edged lateral walls and fluid base. The wonderfully flanged posterior and anterior margins show moderate tuberculation and are impressive visually. The shell was collected Scuba diver off Point Quobba, Western Australia. The shell was plucked at 32-34 meters while nestled on a sponge. The specimen displays some minute and negligible blemishes. Grade: GEM minus. |
