| Note | An outstanding specimen of this singular, endemic Western Australian subspecies, of rare quality for the species, habitat, and collection method, with nothing but typical minor loss at apex. Extremely slender and elongate form. Very clean for species, with minimal substrate residue. No unsightly growth damage which detracts from the majority of examples. Pure white. A product of the legendary 1980s extreme deep-water trawls off the northern coast of Western Australia, and never collected since. Now obtainable only from old collections, and very seldom at this level of quality and beauty. Data: Off Broome, Kimberley Region, Western Australia, Australia; upon sand/mud substrate; 1000-1500 m; 1984. Size: 152 mm. Grading: Fine+; w/o. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
