| Note | A virtually 70 mm superb GIANT, from the ‘old days’ of Mexican availability. Exquisite pale pink and lavender columella. Hypermature, with massively thickened apertural lip, and incredible solidity and weight for size. Very difficult to obtain this size now, coming only from old collections. Data: Off San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico; upon sand substrate, amongst eelgrass; 2-3 m; 1972. Size: 69.3 mm. Grading: Fine++ (light line towards apertural lip). Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
