| Size | 44.4 mm, w/o |

| Note | This EXCEPTIONAL specimen of the extremely RARE ORANGE form is not only the BEST of the JES Collection, but the best I have ever encountered, upon account of its thickly frondose varices; exquisitely balanced proportions; and rare quality. Exceptional state of preservation for this often rough, rock-reef-dwelling species. Uniform beautiful pale orange-apricot, with atypically rich pink columella. Not freshly collected for decades, and now obtainable only from choice old collections, and almost never at this level of quality and beauty. Definitely for the advanced Muricidae specialist, or admirer of truly exquisite seashells. Data: Coconut Well, Broome, Kimberley Region, Western Australia, Australia; upon rock reef substrate, at extreme low tide; 1980. Size: 44.4 mm. Grading: Gem; w/o. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
