| Note | A MAGNIFICENT deep-water variant. Supremely well-formed dorsal pattern: multitudinous chestnut maculae, across a ground of alternating broad axial bands of yellow-ivory and bluish green. Ultra-dark espresso ventrum, reading as inky black. Purplish rose apertural interior. A spectacular shell for the Zoila specialist. Data: Off Steep Point, Gascoyne Region, Western Australia, Australia; upon sand substrate, amongst sponges, upon sponge; 95-100 m; ROV; 2023. Size: 56.4 mm. Grading: Fine++++ (micro irregularity to one side of anterior canal). Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
