NoteWhilst using the ROV we come across some very dead shells laying on the bottom which we refer to as “rocks”. Some of these are collected and rather than discarding them. This shell has totally lost its nacre and is severely eroded. I offer it as I believe there are collectors who would appreciate the specimen despite its poor condition. The shell has been oiled with paraffin oil to gain an idea of the shells original colour. The oil can be removed by washing in hot soapy water. This specimen was collected from 195 metres of water west of Leeman during March 2024. The shell is heavy, mature and has intact siphons. Dead Collected Shell.
