GEM. Exceptional. All Phalium areola are beautiful. But some are more beautiful than others. Shells from dark lava bottoms may have darker colors: chocolate, almost black. This is the case of the Cassis- here, found on the black sands in Negros. According to Abbott the areola is “uncommon” in the Philippines. This is true: very hard to find a colony.
