| Note | A very interesting Natural History item, a rock (measuring about 89 mm in maximum dimensions) which includes two live-taken but dry specimens of Leiosolenus peruvianus (of about 80 and 75 mm each). This species is a boring mytilid bivalve endemic of the southeastern Pacific. These Leiosolenus peruvianus specimens are still in situ inside its substratum, with the shell and its soft parts dry. You can extract the specimens from the rocky substrate, or keep it as it is, as an interesting Natural History Item for your Cabinet of Curiosities. |
