| Note | An OUTSTANDING, extremely LARGE specimen of the FLORIDA form of this exquisite species. Ultra-knobby and foliate. The finest possible quality, with exemplary level of preservation of all delicate lamellae. Beautiful colour: externally pinkish-bluish white ground, with burgundy accents, and deep pink to lamellae; internally rich mauve, and buttercup yellow. It is now very difficult to obtain such large and spectacular specimens of the deep-water Florida form, with specimens coming almost exclusively from choice old collections. The BEST of the best for the pecten specialist. Data: Off Boca Raton, Palm Beach County, Florida, USA; upon sand/rubble substrate, at night; 42 m; dived; 1999. Size: 48.8 mm. Grading: Gem.
