| Note | This is a huge, live-collected giant specimen of Concholepas concholepas in very good condition for such a size. Large specimens of Concholepas are now rare because this species is very heavily extracted and it is a current ban on collecting them with heavy fines, so obtaining one like this is very difficult. This one was collected recently (before the ban) in rather deep water by a diver, in an rocky outcrop far from the coast. This shell has the border with minor flaws, and with the dorsum lightly cleaned and still in its natural condition, covered in many small barnacles and algae, and it can be cleaned with some patience. This specimen preserves it huge operculum (60 mm), which is usually discarded. Note also that this specimen is very heavy and tall, weighing around 605 grams, so the postage for this specimen alone will be around 20-25 euro.
