| Note | One very nice specimen of Xanthochorus cassidiformis, a muricid species of the endemic Chile-Peru genus Xanthochorus. This specimen of the northern form of the species has a white interior of the aperture, in contrast with the southern form which have thinner shells with purplish-yellowish aperture. This specimen was found washed ashore fresh dead in a rocky beach (fully detailed location, with coordinates) and it preserves its original operculum. This specimen has very minor defects, and an excellent sculpture with minute scales, as shown in photos and in very good condition for the species. |
