NoteVery occasionally we find a Murex pecten soelae off our west coast but they are very rare and are usually of very poor quality. This specimen was collected from 90 metres of water west of Tantabiddi, Western Australia during May 2025. It is graded Fine++ due to some spine damage but it is virtually impossible to collect one of these with an ROV without damaging it.
