| Note | Elongate, moderately inflated specimen with distinctive rich coffee/caramel brown lateral walls, margins and extremities. The dorsum shows an interesting/exceptional array of dark brown maculae with blue/grey spots popping through the dorsal blotch. The lateral walls show shades of deep dark brown/burnt orange with mixed and impressive spotting. The base exudes various shades of coffee/caramel brown which accentuates the porcelain white aperture and labral teeth. The specimen displays a thick glossy nacre and rich brown/tan/caramel hued extremities. The striking specimen was taken by a Scuba diver on a night dive at 12 meters while nestled in a cave wall sponge off Rottnest Island, Western Australia in 1995. EX: Don Pisor. The shell shows several glazed sand grain inclusions on the posterior ramp. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
