| Note | Beautiful black/chocolate brown pigmented classic specimen with timeless shape, symmetry and coloration. Moderately heavy for its size (16.8 grams), the specimen is outstanding in most respects with a wonderful crisp, clean and thick nacre. The dorsum displays an intriguing double "Y" ended wicked window perched on the dorsal hump with a ivory window situated on top of ther posterior ramp.. The moderately flanged posterior and anterior margins show moderate tuberculation and are impressive visually. The shell was collected by Scuba diver Andrew Edinger off Jurien Bay, north of Cervantes, Western Australia. The shell was captured at 24 meters while nestled on a purple Calyx sp. sponge circa 2015. The shell shows subnacre micro-blisters on the posterior columellar and labral base. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. |
