| Note | Alluring thalamega subspecies with a subtle smokey blue halo and superb nacre gloss. The shell has excellent weight, sharp contoured extremities and an complex integrated crisp mottled maculae dorsal pattern (47.8 grams). It displays a marvelous and rare white base, orange/apricot/brown tinted extremities with superb but sparse lateral wall spotting. The shell displays thick modestly tuberculated margins and well-developed aperture teeth on the labral side. The specimen was harvested inside a purple halichondria sponge by Scuba diver Daniel Edinger at 43 meters off Kalbarri, Western Australia in 9/2007. The specimen displays a minor nacred pimple (seen in images) and glazed micro-nick on the posterior extremity channel, graded conservatively. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. |
