| Note | Beautiful vercoi specimen with an impressive and extraordinary dark fused rich pattern.The shell features an intense black/brown maculae-based huge blotch covering the entire columellar dorsum with a magnificent bluish/grey dorsal line covered with on geometric series of elongated spots. The specimen also exhibits a strong nacre gloss accentuated by caramel infused chocolate/black pigmented extremities.The vercoi displays intense compacted macro-spotting on both lateral walls and heavily tuberculated margins. A sight to hold in hand, especially with the multi-brown colored and heavily glazed basically black base. Super shape/symmetry with notable inflation with significant rostration present on the posterior extremity. Collected by famed Scuba diver Andrew Edinger at 22 meters while sitting on the outer wall of a limestone reef off Starvation Boat Harbour, Starvation Bay, Hopetoun, Western Australia in 1984. Original data slip from Andrew included. The shell displays one palpable mini-wobble on the columellar anterior ramp. Grade: GEM minus. |
