| Note | Glossy, heavy and handsome example of a lovely cone and a rare find on a Baja offshore island. The shell shows a glossy white body whorl decorated with rectangular blocks of bright orange and pale red axial spots/dashes. Amazing revolving color pattern and the shell displays a natural lip, strong purple pigmented siphonal fasciole and a strong size to weight ratio (39.2 grams). Collected by Scuba diver at night at 10-14 meters on sand off Isla Cayo, Sea of Cortez, Baja California Sur, Mexico in 7/2006. The specimen has one growth fold on the mid-dorsum, below the spire shoulder and a tiny nick on the lip toward the anal notch. Grade: F++/F+++. |
