| Note | Huge heavier weight specimen (60.5 grams) with moderate gloss with an intriguing mid-body white band bordered by black blotches. Beautiful color on this specimen, with shades of turmeric and saffron orange body whorl color, interrupted by radiating concentric brown spots and flammules. The spire patterning is outstanding with alternating brown and white striping creating a memorable visual impact. The specimen was taken by compressor diver at 15-18 meters on sand/rubble substrate off Luzon, Philippines in 3/1989. The shell shows erosion of the protoconch and shallow chipping of the anterior natural lip and notch. Grade: F++/F+++. |
