| Note | Large, wonderful wavy varices with light body whorl fawn/brown banding colors complemented by antique white varices. The foliatum has excellent morphology, moderate weight/size ratio, perfect siphonal canal, aperture lip and desirable but subdued pigmentation. The specimen is in remarkable condition for the species considering the turbulent ocean conditions in this area. Captured by Scuba diver off the Channel Islands, California on boulders at 12-15 meters circa 90s. The shell shows minor wear of the protoconch and modest wear of varix edges. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. |
