| Note | Splendid specimen and unique opalized magic shell. The mappa shows a heavy, mature and, inflated deep nacred dorsum with strong shades of ruby red extremites. The shell has an excellent size/weight ratio (56.4 grams) and amazing nacre gloss. The specimen exhibits excellent nacre gloss and a deep luscious nude/lavender/violet/pink base (shades of near purple in the right lighting) . Most amazing are the pink/nude opalized thick rounded margins, making this shell extraordinary along with perfect extremities. The shell was collected by local divers off Laiwui, Olbi Islands, Indonesia at 8-10 meters in 2012. The specimen has a glazed fold and glossed raised inclusion area on the anterior ramp, not visible in images. Grade: F+++. |
