| Note | ADORABLE AND EXCEPTIONAL PLATES ELEGANT FORM!! HIPPONICIDAE - Hipponix planatus (Carpeter, 1857). TORTILLAS PLATES!! Rare species to get nowadays. Uncommon species to get fresh live! Very hard species to get in any conditions and almost impossible to remove from stones. This are most hard attached to the buried stones and invisible for the eyes. Sometimes currents make them appear between the stones. Very mysterious species from the Pacific living buried and deep in mud-sand. Micro multiple scales around the outer lip, very callous thick inside the ventral middle part. On the dorsum side present Multiple layers overlapping each other with flat form as usual for the species. Specimen with the best sculpture and uniform shape. F+++. For advancer collectors. Uncommon species, seldom offer virtually. Found attached on top of buried stones about 6m deep , Isla Toriz, Melaque, Jalisco, Mexico. January 2026.
