| Note | Splendid dark patterned specimen from the Indian Ocean. The shell is heavy, mature and shows an elondated form. It beams a deep nacred dorsum with a significant/intricate dorsal line. The shell exhibits and incredible overall thick nacre gloss and with deep luscious peach/apricot orange/peach colored teeth and aperture. The shell was collected by Scuba diver off the Aliwal Shoal, Durban, Natal, South Africa at 40 meters in 10/2018 on hard reef in "shark" infested waters. The specimen demonstrates a noticeable growth disruption fold along the labral lateral wall and seen in two left images in the collage. Grade: F++. |
