| Note | CLASSIC GONDOLA SHAPE+++......The contours are pleasing to the eye from any angle in this big friendii: a classic gondola shape, rostration and of course those perfect upturned siphons. Not to mention dark lateral walls with deeper spotting fused into the main body, wrapping over the margins onto a pitch-black base. And flaring to the anterior and posterior margins, with intermitant shades of deep orange/tangerine. Thick glossy nacre. Ultra-mature. Ultra-heavy. Splendid and fitting into any major collection. Grade: Gem/Gem-. Provenance: from my own collection. Collected on reef on top of sponge at 12 meters by diver; Cape Peron, Cockburn Sound, Western Australia; 2019. |
