| Note | Beautiful black/chocolate brown pigmented classic specimen with excellent form, symmetry and elongated dorsal window. Moderately heavy for its size (18.9 grams), the specimen is superb in most respects with a wonderful crisp, clean and thick nacre. The shell displays an unusual open elongate ivory white capped window extending to the anterior ramp. The moderately flanged posterior and anterior margins show moderate tuberculation and are impressive visually. The shell was collected by Scuba diver Daniel Edinger north of Kalbarri, Western Australia. The shell was captured at 43 meters while snacking on a purple Calyx sp. sponge in 8/2006. The specimen shows negligible blemishes on the base. Grade: GEM minus. |
