| Note | Appealing radically humped specimen of this desirable and treasured Australian Zoila classic. Marvelous wide form with modestly flanging tuberculated margins and superior black/brown/pastel and burnt orange/dark brown/black fused dorsal coloration. The shell exhibits a thick glossy nacre on a flawless dorsum with a chocolate brown window without a ivory white patch. The shell has thick anterior and posterior flanges, perfect margins, extremities and strong weight/size ratio (34.0 grams).Taken by diver Andrew Edinger off Bernier Island, Carnarvon, Western Australia at 44 meters while sitting on a purple sponge back in 7/2006. The shell has two labral hard to notice glazed micro-inclusions on both extremities.The shell includes Andrew's hand written data tag. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. |
