| Note | Rare patterned vercoi specimen with an impressive an extraordinary transverse dorsal pattern with blue/gray longitudinal banding and ivory white dorsal primary color. Misty and mixed/superb lateral wall spotting. The specimen also exhibits a strong nacre gloss accentuated by nude/beige pigmented extremities and margins.The vercoi displays intense compacted macro-spotted margins. Super shape/symmetry with notable inflation with moderate rostration present for both extremities. Collected by famed Scuba diver Peter Clarkson at 8 meters on a granite ridge sponge north of Taylor Island, Alexander Bay, Western Australia in 5/2000. The shell is featured and illustrated in Australia's Spectacular Cowries textbook Plate 84, figure g. Original handwritten data slip from Peter included. Grade: GEM. |
