| Note | Glossy and elongate example of this distinctive and lovely deep water cowrie. This specimen is a wonderful example of the species, with strong nacre gloss and elegant form and symmetry. The shell displays a distinctive dorsal blotch, perfect extremities and perfect extremities. Trawled at 150 meters in the East China Sea, north of Taiwan in 3/2017. The specimen shows a light growth fold on the labral dorsum and micro silt stain on the columellae anterior base tip. Grade F+++/GEM minus. |
