NoteElongate and wonderful example of a true East Pacific Ocean classic An excellent, moderately heavy specimen with three strongly expanded white/cream colored varices on the body whorl becoming laminate at the edges. The varix cords have the classic dark brown axial bands between the digitations. This color form is classic within the species and highly collectable. Plucked off the breakwater at the Long Beach Harbor, Long Beach, California at 10-12 meters in 2008. Some roughness and minor erosion of the trailing varix edge and spire. The shell is complemented by an intact apex and spire and there is a small chip at the siphonal canal tip. Grade: F++/F+++.
